What began as a humble venture, with Günter and Astrid Fuerbacher selling cars off their front porch in Fairport, has since grown into a cornerstone of the automotive industry in the Rochester area. Originally from Nuremberg, Germany, Günter and his wife Astrid arrived in the mid 1960s with big dreams and a strong work ethic, eventually turning their hard work into Universal Imports of Rochester.

Günter and Astrid built an incredible business from the ground up, stressing the importance of top-quality service and exceptional vehicles. With deep ties to the local community, they raised three children and helped nurture seven grandchildren, all while growing Universal Imports into the trusted dealership it is today. Though Günter sadly passed away in 2018, his legacy lives on through Astrid, who continues in her role in the company, alongside their children, Mark and Andrea.

Mark Fuerbacher now carries on his father’s passion and vision as President of the company, ensuring that Universal Imports remains a beacon of quality and service. Both Günter and Mark have been heavily involved as leaders in the Rotary Club, driven by their deep faith in God, which continues to inspire their active involvement in the community.

Andrea, now the Vice President, plays a vital role in the daily operations, working closely with Lisa, Mark’s wife, to ensure a smooth and customer-focused experience. Their son, Hunter, after obtaining his business degree, now heads up the service side of the business, overseeing all aspects of vehicle maintenance and repairs. Andrea’s son, James, manages the body shop and collision center, ensuring that Universal Imports provides comprehensive care for every vehicle.

With such a strong team of 26 members, Universal Imports continues to uphold the values of family, faith, and exceptional service that have made it a trusted name in the community for decades.
