Meet the Team at Universal Imports of Rochester

Günter and Astrid arrived here from Bavaria, Germany in the late 60s and went on to found Universal Imports of Rochester in 1984. Günter created an incredible business that still to this day stresses quality service and top of the line vehicles. They raised three children and helped raise seven grandchildren, all while building Universal Imports from scratch. Sadly, Günter passed away in 2018. Astrid continues in her role of Owner and Vice President. Her children Mark and Andrea look forward to continuing Günter’s legacy.

Mark, Günter and Astrid’s son, is the President and Sales Manager of Universal Imports of Rochester. He has worked alongside his sister, Andrea, from the start. Mark has over 30 years of experience in the automotive industry and is both a foreign and domestic car expert. He switches gears from horsepower to harmonies on the weekends, playing guitar in a band and is also a Fairport Rotary member.

Andrea, Günter, and Astrid’s daughter, is the Vice President of Universal Imports of Rochester. She has been involved in the business from the start, overseeing all office and accounting duties. Andrea enjoys gardening in her backyard, traveling, and spending time with her grandkids.

Lisa has been a part of Universal Imports of Rochester for over 25 years. She is the office administrator who handles several day-to-day responsibilities. Lisa loves to garden and hike when the weather is nice, spend time with her husband Mark and their yellow lab, and is a huge fan of the Buffalo Bills.

Kevin has 15 years of experience working in multiple areas of the automotive industry. Kevin enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf, and watching football.

Hunter, Mark and Lisa’s son, has aspired to be part of the company since he was five years old. Hunter is a graduate of Fairport High School and has a degree in business and entrepreneurship. Hunter is an avid Bills fan and enjoys spending time with his girlfriend and puppy.

Mike is our Service Specialist, and with over 35 years of experience, he is very knowledgeable about Audi and BMW service, as well as all imported and domestic vehicles. In his free time, Mike enjoys camping, traveling, and being with family.

Erin has been working in the Auto Industry since 2018 and has built a reputation for friendly, honest and reliable service with a personal touch. Outside of work, you can find her exploring the outdoors with her 2 dogs or enjoying live music around the Rochester area.

Jamie recently joined the automotive industry and is excited to build a career centered around helping customers and delivering a positive service experience. With a strong passion for learning and a commitment to customer care, Jamie is dedicated to making every visit smooth and enjoyable. Outside of work, Jamie enjoys playing golf, spending time with his girlfriend Preston, and traveling with family whenever possible.

Rick is an ASE Certified Master Technician specializing in all European and Asian Imports. He has been with Universal Imports for over 13 years and has over 40 years in the automotive industry. Rick likes to play the keyboard in his free time.

Jonathan is a Certified ASE Technician who has been a dedicated professional in the Automotive Industry since 2010, focusing on unique and specialty cars. Outside of work, Jonathan enjoys rollerblading and spending quality time with his family.

Brian has been in the automotive industry since 2003. Brian brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to our team. He spent 9 years as a Foreman at Honda, honing his Leadership skills and expertise. Outside of work, Brian enjoys mountain biking and exploring the outdoors.

Tom has been with Universal Imports for over 25 years. He is an ASE Certified Master Technician specializing in all Asian and European imports. Tom enjoys working on his fully restored 1956 Chevy, going to car shows, and watching drag races.

Joe started here at Universal Imports fresh out of an automotive training program and is excited to keep providing exceptional service for many years to come.

Zach is a certified technician, specializing in all European and Asian imports. He has been with Universal Imports for the past few years, providing excellent service, and is excited to keep doing so.

Chris is the quality check technician here at Universal Imports of Rochester. He is an automotive technician turned quality-check guru, thanks to his attention to detail. Before every car leaves the lot after service, he ensures it meets Universal Imports' standards.

Matt has been with Universal Imports of Rochester as an ASE Certified Master Technician for over 5 years now and has over two decades in the car industry. When he is not working, he spends time with family and enjoys “all things water and wheels”.

Arpad has been with Universal Imports of Rochester for over 30 years. He is an ASE Certified Master Technician, specializing in Mercedes-Benz among other import cars. Arpad was born and raised in Hungary and enjoys playing and watching soccer.

Thomas has been with us for over 17 years, managing the parts department. Thomas is knowledgeable about all cars, domestic and foreign. When Thomas isn’t working, he enjoys camping and enjoying the great outdoors.

Andrew has been with us every step of the way, working here for 30 years. He is an expert on automotive parts and helps manage the parts department. Andrew loves music and is part of his own band, playing bass guitar.

James is Andrea’s son and has been with Universal Imports for over 15 years. James is an expert painter and is a great body technician. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and kids and tending to his homestead.

Brennan can be found in the Universal Imports body shop. He knows how to repair any kind of body damage and never fails to paint a car perfectly.

John Michael joins us here at Universal Imports of Rochester all the way from South Carolina. He brings together his Southern hospitality and passion for working with cars to every service he provides.

Sam brings formal training in Collision repair with both technical knowledge and hands on experience. Outside of work, Sam enjoys playing guitar and practicing Jiu-Jitsu.

Cam is our in-house detailer. With his many years of experience as a professional in the automotive detailing business, he can make just about any car look brand new again. In the winter, you can find Cameron snowboarding at Bristol Mountain or on the road trying to find the perfect trail.

Jessica has over 11 years of Management Experience bringing strong customer service, attention to detail and organizational skills. Outside of work, Jessica enjoys cooking and entertaining for Family and Friends.

Rachel has over 15 years of Marketing experience, known for her strategic insight and creative solutions. Outside of work, Rachel enjoys the outdoors and camping with her 5 kids, blending her passion for adventure with her dedication to her family.
